What emergency plumbing covers

  • Overflowing toilets that will not stop
  • Main line clogs that shut down the whole house
  • Slab leaks with water coming through the floor
  • Checking for the pipe types we expect in Highland’s mix of housing (early and mid-1900s homes in the older core, later tracts, and newer East Highlands Ranch homes)

When it is more than a quick fix

  • A sudden puddle or warm spot on the floor
  • Water spraying or pouring from a pipe, fixture or the ceiling
  • A water heater leaking from the tank
  • Any of the above in a Highland home that has not had its plumbing checked in years

Not sure if it can wait? Call (909) 927-3194 and we will tell you honestly.

Emergency Plumbing in Highland: what we see locally

Highland grew up from citrus country at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains. The older part of town around Palm Avenue and Base Line still has homes from the early and middle 1900s, while the streets off Boulder and Victoria Avenues are mostly later tract housing.

In newer Highland homes, emergencies are often a failed supply line or fitting. In older ones, it is more often aging pipe, so we check both. Much of Highland is served by the East Valley Water District from groundwater and Santa Ana River water, and it runs hard enough that scale shows up on valves, cartridges and water heaters.

Highland neighborhoods

Further east, East Highlands Ranch and the Greenspot Road area are newer planned neighborhoods with more modern piping. Because Highland sits right at the foot of the mountains, a lot of yards have rocky or decomposed-granite soil and mature trees, both of which matter when we have to dig or run a camera down a sewer line.

  • the older neighborhoods off Palm Avenue and Base Line
  • streets near Boulder Avenue and Victoria Avenue
  • East Highlands Ranch
  • the area around Greenspot Road
  • neighborhoods near Highland Avenue and the 210
  • homes near the San Manuel and Yaamava’ area

Working in Highland

Highland is a short trip from Rialto on the 210 east. We use the Base Line, Palm Avenue, Boulder Avenue and Greenspot Road exits, and SR-330 for homes toward the mountain end of town.

Older Highland homes near Palm Avenue and Base Line can have galvanized supply lines and clay sewer laterals from the original construction. In East Highlands Ranch, the homes are newer, but HOA rules can affect access, parking and work hours, which we plan around.

Because Highland sits at the base of the mountains, many lots have rocky or decomposed-granite soil. That matters for digging sewer repairs and can affect how quickly water drains in a yard, so we take it into account when we plan the work.

Emergency Plumbing FAQ for Highland

What should I do first in a plumbing emergency?

Shut off the water. Most homes have a main shutoff near the front hose bib or where the line enters the house, and a street-side valve at the meter. Then call us.

Are you really open 24 hours?

Yes. We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Call (909) 927-3194.

Will I know the cost before you start?

Yes. Even on emergency calls, we explain what is needed and go over the price before work begins.

How can I prevent emergencies?

Know where your main shutoff is, replace old braided supply lines, keep grease out of drains, and pay attention to slow drains before they become backups.

Do you serve all of Highland?

Yes. Highland is northeast of our Rialto shop on the 210, usually a quick trip, and we cover the older neighborhoods off Palm Avenue and Base Line, the area around Greenspot Road, homes near the San Manuel and Yaamava’ area and the rest of the city, 24 hours a day.
